Description

Giant Lilliput Robot Tin Toy Windup. 8″ tall tin toy wind-up robot. Actions included mechanical walking with striding arms. Also includes extra feature of on/off switch located on his back.  Primitive stylized lithography make this a very attractive robot toy complete with retro graphics box.

In 1509, Leonardo da Vinci created a wind-up lion as a greeting for Louis XII in Italy. Wind-up toys were at first for only royalty, and were more elaborate, with complex systems of gears and springs.”
